The current focus of economic policy in America is on how to create more jobs. With the latest estimate of the unemployment rate at 9.5 percent,1 among the highest rates in decades and without much indication of decline anytime soon, this focus is not misplaced. To cut the unemployment rate significantly, it’s clear that the United States needs to create jobs at rapid rates. One promising source of new jobs is startups.
